Preventive Care
Following a complete dental examination, a professional cleaning benefits not only the appearance of your smile and the health of your teeth and gums but also the rest of your body.
Removal of the plaque and calculus (tartar) bacteria on your teeth and below the gum line helps prevent gingivitis, bone loss, cavities, oral cancer as well as heart disease, diabetes and low birth weights. One of the major reasons for bad breath and staining of teeth is neglect of proper cleanings.
Your maintenance dental cleanings should be done at least every 6 months.
Mild sensitivity can be caused by receding gums or an infected tooth.Moderate to severe sensitivity can mean a cracked tooth or a dental cavity caused by tooth decay, or a filling that has to be replaced.
Our goal is to assist each patient in achieving and maintaining long term dental health including that wonderful smile.
A complete dental exam also includes tooth polishing, flossing and a fluoride treatment rinse.
