Complete Dental Examination

Dental examinations are necessary to determine what conditions exist in your mouth and to provide a treatment plan to restore you to optimum oral health.

A complete exam includes examination, evaluation, and recommended treatment for the following:

• A thorough dental examination. Of course we check the teeth thoroughly for signs of dental decay (cavities), cracks, excessive wear, and abscesses. We will make recommendations for correcting these conditions.
• Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer
• Gum and bone health examination (Periodontal examination).
• Examination of existing restorations: Check current fillings, crowns, etc.

• Evaluation of the muscles and jaw joint that support chewing function (TMJ)
• Recommendations for changes in diet and other health habits which can significantly impact future oral health.

Diagnostic X-rays

X-rays may be required for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss.
